Sometimes we lose parts of ourselves while traveling through this life and most of those times we don’t get them back.
It’s probably one of the saddest realities that we must accept and certainly one we mourn for the rest of our lives.
It haunts us as a ghost as though it wishes to close the separation between us and what we’ve lost. But there is no unification, only the acceptance that our loss has forced us to become someone slightly different and new.
Losing a bit of ourselves is in essence a slow death of who we were and filling that void is a new opportunity to be reborn and live differently. Each day we work to fill those voids, we also slowly begin to live as a new person. It is because we are in a constant state of decay and regeneration that we are able to see that growing and changing are the true miracles of life.
What we lose is never our end but simply a reason for a new beginning.  In order for us to ever live life as it was intended and understand our capabilities, we must experience loss. It is always loss that moves us, opportunity that changes us and a new beginning that proves we are greater than all the losses taken from us combined.

The world is not just about us! Sadly this is a lesson some never learn. We all have a tendency to see the world only as it applies to us instead of how it affects others and for this reason the world will never be about us.
It is very rarely about the single road which comes from us and most always about the ones we establish that lead us to new people and places. When we focus on that single road, fearing to venture from it in order to help others, then ‘what could have been’ remains a wilderness with both you and them lost on each edge of that un-tamed opportunity.
Leaving the road does not mean leaving yourself; it simply means you have given yourself a new direction in which to connect with others who can now venture into your world.
It is only when they see your world and take a step on the road you have opened, that the wilderness is tamed so that your life becomes important to them. Every road you establish leads to another person who will give a part of their life to you and this is the only way our lives in this world will ever become about us.

Life has a way of leading us on journeys that we don’t understand and which seem to us to serve no useful purpose in our lives at the time…and often, it seems we would be right. But if you consider the importance of this very moment and what it has taken for you to live it, then you can begin to understand why such moments occur.
What we take from those situations is not intended for use now but for a future moment when it will become beneficial to us. Most of us live in the moment because it is real to us and we feel we have some control over what is substantial, as opposed to the future which is uncertain and offers little, if any, control.
But those future moments are as important to our Creator as the present ones are to us, and so He prepares us for them. Even though we will react when the times come, we wouldn’t have had the right tools to make good choices had it not been for that earlier moment, which made so little sense to us at the time.
All things happen for a reason; as to their meanings, that it is something that will only come from following life’s path and then only in it’s own time.

When a nation becomes subject to any form of censorship by its leaders, every citizen has a responsibility to question the acts of those leaders, assemble into an investigative body and remove those leaders if it is found that any citizen’s right to know has been hindered or impeded.   -C.L. No human being can truly be free until he or she knows the truth about the circumstance of how their freedom was achieved and how it is kept.            -C.L. Harmon

There seems to be little understanding as to the meaning of life and creation. And what is believed to be understood by some is never agreed upon by all.
Yet we all seek knowledge, wisdom and insight as to why we are here and to our purpose in life. We make choices and then worry about the outcome of those choices, believing them to be drawing us closer to our purpose and hoping not further away.
But perhaps we put to much emphasis on our purpose instead of the faith needed to make choices which lead us to a purposeful life. Purpose does not belong to us, but to our Creator who has already made the choices necessary for us to fulfill the purpose He has given us.
However, it’s not His purpose which gives our lives meaning; for that, we ourselves must choose to live a life of purpose and consequence. Perhaps choosing to have faith and believing that understanding will eventually come, leads us to that end with the insight to make choices which provide a life that is never meaningless and always purposeful.

Any action that must need a lie, in part or as a whole,  to be completed is an action that will have consequences. What is not often considered when a lie is born, is when those consequences will return.
All lies live until replaced by the truth. But it may take years before those truths are discovered, long after the person who created the lie is gone from our lives. So quite often, the innocent will be affected by the damge caused from the deception.
Even when a falsehood is created with the best of intentions, it will still exist, growing in darkness until the truth is revealed. The truth is not always a positive word or declaration and certainly not easy to accept, but it is complete when spoken. There is none to be added, none to be taken away and nothing left to haunt those who come after us.
The truth is the end and the beginning, whereas a lie is only the beginning. As long as it lives, it will spread dark deception until it finally finds its end in the light of the truth.

Distance is the only thing that separates one enemy from another. One word, one sentence or one misunderstanding is all it takes to make us step back, separating people and making them enemies. When we truly think about this, we must recognize just how close we are to creating negativity at any given time.
We all say and do things without realizing the ripple effect of those actions. They seem harmless enough at the time and so their result seems inconsequential. But this is only to the person responsible for those words or actions.
To the other person, they become a small crack in which understanding, forgiveness and compassion slowly seep out altering our perceptions of that person and creating space between us. Initially we are completely unaware of these changes and yet they still grip a part of us.
When we eventually realize that we have been affected, then we must use a kind word or sentence to help others understand what they’ve done and then forgive them. Otherwise we allow that crack to widen to a point that it drains us completely and separates us to a point that we can no longer see the other for who they truly are.

Commitment is probably the most misunderstood word of the English language.  When we commit, we can do it out of love, obligation, monetary gain, respect and even guilt among many other reasons. But whatever the reason, it must always be voluntary.
We can be demanded to work, ordered to serve, expected to comply and told what to believe. But only we can choose to commit to those orders, ideas and expectations. It is not the act of compliance but the fortitude to act with our own will that is commitment.
The heart must always concur with the mind if our actions are to become commitments. Otherwise, they simply remain deeds performed instead of a purpose embraced.
Commitment gives us purpose and it gives our acts purpose. It is the origins of quality, pride, perseverance and imperative in order connect to others.
If we are to ever truly become better people, we must first commit ourselves to living a life where we perform all actions with heart. Because only then, do we understand that commitment is the foundation in which all relationships are built.

What are your actions saying right now? Are they telling someone how much you care for them or that their well being is in your thoughts? Are they planting seeds for a confrontation or devising deception against others?
What you are doing right now may be the last chance to make it known who you love, achieve what you wish to accomplish or make someone understand what they mean to you.
Those actions may also be the last statement you ever make to the world. Life is not about what has been or will be, because those times either belong to the ghosts of the past or to the uncertain reality of the future.
What is real is the moment in which you live. It is the only segment of time that you will truly ever have control over. Your thoughts and your actions this very moment are the ones that will define you before all others. This is the moment that could be the only opportunity left for someone else to understand us, to know us and to realize why they should remember us.
